California deputy shoots man who shot and killed dog.

A Ventura, Calif. man, who refused to drop his gun while in the midst of shooting a dog, was delivered swift justice on Wednesday afternoon after he too, was shot and killed.
According to ABC 7 News, Ventura County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call about an armed man who was at the Mountain Vista Elementary School on Wednesday.
Based on a description provided by the caller, the responding deputies soon located the suspect, who was at that time, standing outside of his own home.
According to the Los Angeles Times, that man was 33-year-old Josue Jimenez.
Jimenez, who was holding a handgun, was ordered to drop his weapon, but he ignored the order and fired.
One of the deputies fired back, hitting Jimenez.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department released the following in a statement:
"Deputies quickly realized the shot Jimenez fired was directed at a dog,"
Though medical aid was provided to both Jimenez and the dog, described as a pit bull, neither survived their gunshot injuries.
According to KEYT News, Jimenez had a prior record of gun violations.
