GLENWOOD CITY, Wis. – Anyone with a dog knows how curious and resourceful they can be around anything edible. That curiosity apparently killed a dog in Western Wisconsin.

Luna, a 2-year-old golden retriever, was put down by her owners Tuesday evening after she ingesting Xylitol-laden gum on Monday. Luna had suffered severe liver damage.

A Pit Bull found badly abused and left for dead is now getting a second chance.

Not only is Asher getting a new chance, he's also helping give others a new "leash" on life.

Asher has made a lot of progress over three months. Just barely a year old, it's hard to believe the sweet pup was found left for dead on railroad tracks in Jessamine County with two gunshot wounds.

UPDATE AS OF 4/17/2015: PER SHELTER, ROMEO'S SEIZURE YESTERDAY WAS NOT VERY SEVERE, AND HE HAS NOT HAD ANY MORE SINCE. PLEASE KEEP SHARING HIM SO WE CAN HAVE A RESCUE, FOSTER AND PLEDGES LINED UP FOR HIM WHEN HIS HOLD IS UP THIS WEEKEND. ♥

UPDATE AS OF 4/16/2015: LITTLE ROMEO HAD A SEIZURE EARLY THIS MORNING, SO HE IS NOW IN ISOLATION RESTING AND QUIET. SINCE HE CAME AS A STRAY AND WE HAVE NO HISTORY ON HIM, WE DON'T KNOW IF THIS WILL BE A ONE TIME THING OR IF HE HAS EPILEPSY. HE IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION OR RESCUE. JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU ALL A HEADS UP.
